The Post-Graduate Course in Pedagogical Action and Psycho-Educational Interventions to Promote the Adult Life of People with Autism provides the necessary skills to follow the people with autism and their families in an independent adult life project, aimed at pursuing social inclusion objectives. The main targer includes those subjects that, at the end of the school years, are at risk of experimenting situations of social isolation or exclusion.
The main educational objectives include the acquisition of specific skills and competences to promote educational interventions addressed to people with autism, with the aim of building a life project capable of including those people in the reference community, increase independent life skills (social, relational, communicational, work-related), promote new synergies and collaborations between professionals, by identifying the possible connections with the resources and the opportunities in the relevant territories, through enabling co-projects.
The Post-Graduate Course in Pedagogical Action and Psycho-Educational Interventions to Promote the Adult Life of People with Autism provides healthcare operators with a deep knowledge and understanding of the following topics:
- pedagogical approach to disabilities;
- pedagogical prognosis in reference to the diagnosis, and functional profiles of people with autism;
- healthcare and welfare models, and the main pedagogical action and psycho-educational intervention theories and principles;
- communication and languages, the corporeal, sensory and physical dimension in adult life;
- soft skills and orientation paths in school;
- adult life within the life cycle; co-creation of an ICF-based life project.
The course will be provided in blended mode, with 50% in-classroom lessons and 50% remote classes. In-classroom lessons will be held one afternoon a week.
The course comprises lessons, remote learning, individual study, a project work and final exam. There will be a final exam for all modules.
The Post-Graduate Course in Pedagogical Action and Psycho-Educational Interventions to Promote the Adult Life of People with Autism trains professional figures, such as regional healthcare service professionals; some of its objectives include the ability to apply specific knowledge to promote educational interventions addressed to people with autism, with the goal of creating a life project that includes the person in the reference community; increase the ability to apply pedagogical mediation to support independent life in people with autism, by increasing the chances of developing their social-relational, communicational and work-related skills; promoting new synergies and collaborations between professionals, by identifying possible connections with local resources and opportunities, through enabling co-projects.
