  4. Managing People & Organizations: Focused on understanding how organizational design and human resources management choices can support the fulfilment of a corporate strategy.

Module 1 – INTERNATIONAL MACROECONOMICS FOR BUSINESS

This module is focused on understanding the role of international macroeconomics politics, institutions and geopolitics and their impact on business decisions.

Topics covered: Macroeconomics concepts and indicators; monetary and fiscal policy concepts and tools and their effects on companies; international trade (exports, imports, balance of payments, exchange rates), institutions, international agreements and geopolitical settings; scenario analysis.

Module 2 – STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

This module is focused on understanding the principles and models to analyse the market structures and the competition context, in order to formulate business and corporate strategies targeted at gaining a sustainable competitive advantage

Topics covered: Market form and competitive context analysis; vision, mission, values and analysis of resources and capacity; strategy formulation; vertical and horizontal integration choices through internal or external growth strategies (alliances, mergers and acquisitions); internationalization strategies.

Module 3 – FINANCIAL AND MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTING

This module is focused on understanding advanced instruments for reading and interpreting financial statements, and to implement a planning and control system that supports the top management’s strategy and decision-making processes.

Topics covered: Financial statement reconfiguration; cash flow statement; international accounting principles; consolidated financial statements; planning, programming and auditing systems; cost classification; direct cost; total cost; differential analysis; budgeting; multidimensional models to measure financial and economic performances.

Module 4 MANAGING PEOPLE & ORGANIZATIONS

This module is focused on understanding how organizational design and human resources management choices can support the fulfilment of a corporate strategy.

Topics covered: Organizational planning models and structures; recruitment and selection tools; assessment and development systems; compensation policies; sustainable practices to manage and encourage human resources.

The Post-Graduate Course in International Business stems from a partnership between the Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche e Aziendali “M. Fanno” of the University of Padua, and the CUOA Business School, and it combines rigorous academic research with the practical knowledge of executive education.
